About This Game

Minesweeper is a classic logic puzzle game. Click cells to reveal them and use numbers as clues to locate hidden mines. Each number tells you how many mines are in adjacent cells. Flag suspected mines with right-click. Clear all safe cells to win without detonating a mine.

Tips & Strategy

Start by clicking near the center of the board — corner clicks are more likely to require guessing. When a number is revealed, count the adjacent flagged mines. If the count matches, you can safely reveal all other adjacent cells. Use the process of elimination: if a cell could only be a mine based on surrounding numbers, flag it immediately. Work from known information outward. If you're stuck, look for 1-2-1 patterns along edges — they often reveal safe cells. Right-click is your best friend for flagging suspected mines.

How Scoring Works

Minesweeper is scored by completion time rather than points. The goal is to clear all non-mine cells as quickly as possible. The timer starts on your first click. Your fastest completion time is saved locally so you can track your personal best.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the first click always safe?

Yes. The board is generated so that your first click never hits a mine. This ensures you always get a fair start.

How do I flag a mine on mobile?

On mobile, toggle between Reveal mode and Flag mode using the button at the bottom of the screen. In Flag mode, tapping a cell will place or remove a flag instead of revealing it.

What do the numbers mean?

Each number tells you how many of the 8 surrounding cells contain a mine. A '1' means one adjacent mine, '2' means two, and so on. Use these clues to deduce which cells are safe.
